Overview

Founded in 2018 by Ng and Tan, NDC Design emerged from a shared vision to redefine contemporary architecture through thoughtful, people-centric spaces. Prior to establishing the practice, both architects spent nearly five years at GDP Architects, where they were involved in major commercial developments including The Hub SS2, Menara IQ, Solaris 3, and GEM Mall. Their early exposure to large-scale high-rise and commercial projects shaped their strong technical foundation and design sensibilities.

Ng, who holds a Master’s Degree in Architecture from University of Tasmania, together with Tan, a graduate of Universiti Teknologi Malaysia, later shifted their focus towards residential architecture in pursuit of greater creative freedom. Beginning with the remodelling of a relative’s home, the duo quickly gained recognition through social media, attracting homeowners seeking modern living environments that balance openness, privacy, and a stronger connection to outdoor spaces. Their design philosophy became increasingly relevant following the pandemic, as homeowners began prioritising healthier and more adaptable living environments.

Today, NDC Design is recognised for its sustainable and adaptive architectural approach, particularly in the transformation and revitalisation of existing homes. Rather than demolishing older structures, the practice emphasises upcycling and extending buildings to minimise material waste while preserving structural value. This environmentally conscious methodology not only reduces construction impact but also offers cost-effective solutions for homeowners. Among the firm’s most notable residential projects are No 7 Bukit Gasing and No 16 Grandville USJ, both reflecting NDC Design’s commitment to creating socially inclusive, sustainable, and thoughtfully crafted spaces.
